See Photos from First Haringey ‘Flash Sweep’

In Community, Latest News by Jonathan Lovett

Just before Christmas our Safety Champions joined forces with residents, stakeholders and the police to organise the borough’s first ever ‘flash sweep’.

The sweep, first tried out in Tower Hamlets last summer, sees the community helping the police look for any weapons such as knives or baseball bats which might have been hidden by gangs in local parks or streets.

It was also a great opportunity for a community litter pick and more than 20 bags were filled by the end of the session.
